It uses the HTML5 Canvas API to draw every video frame in real time while applying your chosen filters (hue, saturation, brightness, contrast, sepia, and a custom color tint). The result is displayed instantly right in your browser â no upload is ever sent to a server.
The tool supports any format that your browser can play natively â typically MP4 (H.264), WebM, and Ogg. For the best experience use local MP4 files. Online URLs work for preview but downloading may be blocked if the server doesnât allow crossâorigin access.
Absolutely! Click the âDownload filtered videoâ button, choose a duration, and the tool will record the canvas output as a .webm file. Note: downloaded videos do not include the original audio track.
Many external video hosts (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo) block crossâorigin access. If the server doesnât send proper CORS headers, the canvas becomes âtaintedâ and the browser refuses to export it. For reliable downloading, use a local video file.
No. Everything happens locally in your browser. Your video file never leaves your device. The tool does not send any data to a server â itâs completely private and secure.
Currently, only the video stream (without audio) is recorded. The downloaded .webm file will be videoâonly. We may add audio support in a future update.
