Color Noise Generator

A color noise generator is an online tool that produces different types of noise (white, pink, brown, blue, violet) each characterized by its frequency spectrum. These sounds are commonly used for sleep aid, concentration, tinnitus relief, and audio testing.

White noise has equal power across all frequencies, sounding like static hiss. Pink noise decreases in power by 3 dB per octave, giving it a deeper, more balanced sound. Pink noise is often perceived as more natural and soothing, resembling rainfall or wind.

Brown noise (also called Brownian noise) has even more bass-heavy energy than pink noise, decreasing 6 dB per octave. It sounds like a low rumble or a distant waterfall. Many people use brown noise for deep sleep, relaxation, and to mask low-frequency environmental noises.

Blue noise increases in power by 3 dB per octave, emphasizing higher frequencies. It sounds sharp and hissy, often described as the "hiss of a high-pressure air spray." It is less common for relaxation but is used in dithering and audio engineering to mask quantization errors.

Violet noise (also called purple noise) increases in power by 6 dB per octave, making it even brighter than blue noise. It's heavily weighted toward high frequencies and is used in scientific applications like treating tinnitus or in advanced audio dithering.

Yes, you can download any noise type as a 16-bit 44.1kHz WAV file. Simply choose your desired duration (from 1 second up to 1 hour) and click "Download WAV". The file is generated entirely in your browser.

Playing is unlimited – you can listen for as long as you like. For downloads, we support up to 3600 seconds (1 hour) to ensure a manageable file size and quick generation.
