Frequently Asked Questions

Simply drag and drop your TXT files into the upload zone, or click to browse and select files from your device. Once added, you can reorder them using the up/down arrow buttons, choose a separator option, and preview the merged result. When satisfied, click "Download Merged File" to save the combined text file to your computer. You can also copy the merged content directly to your clipboard.

Absolutely safe. All processing is done entirely within your browser using JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to any server or transmitted over the internet. The content stays on your device at all times. This is a 100% client-side tool, ensuring complete privacy and security for your data.

While this tool is optimized for .txt files, it also supports many other plain-text formats including .csv, .log, .md, .html, .css, .js, .json, .xml, .yml, .yaml, .cfg, .ini, and similar text-based files. As long as the file contains readable text, it can be merged. Binary files are not supported and may produce garbled output.

There is no hard limit on the number of files you can merge. For performance reasons, we recommend keeping individual files under 50 MB each. Very large files may cause browser slowdowns. The preview is truncated at 50,000 characters for display purposes, but the downloaded file always contains the complete merged content.

You have four separator options: None (files are concatenated directly with no gap), Single blank line (one empty line between files), Double blank line (two empty lines between files), and Custom separator where you can define your own text or characters (use \n for newlines and \t for tabs). You can also enable filename markers to insert a label like --- filename.txt --- before each file's content.

Files are read using UTF-8 encoding, which is the standard for most modern text files. If your TXT files use a different encoding (such as ANSI, GBK, or Shift-JIS), they may not display correctly in the preview or merged output. For best results, ensure your text files are saved with UTF-8 encoding before merging.

Yes! This tool is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets. You can tap the upload area to select files from your device's storage, reorder them with the arrow buttons, and download the merged result — all from your mobile browser. The interface adapts seamlessly to smaller screens.

Files are merged in the order they appear in the queue list (top to bottom). You can change the merge order by using the up arrow (â–˛) and down arrow (â–Ľ) buttons next to each file. The first file in the list becomes the beginning of the merged output, and the last file becomes the end. You can also remove individual files with the delete (Ă—) button.
