It uses the modern EyeDropper API built into Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Opera). When you click "Pick Color from Screen", the browser shows a magnifier; click any pixel on your screen and the tool captures the exact HEX, RGB and HSL values. No screenshot or upload required.
EyeDropper API is supported in Google Chrome 95+, Microsoft Edge 95+, and Opera 81+. Firefox and Safari do not support it yet. If you're on an unsupported browser, you'll see a friendly message and can still use the manual color picker.
You get three standard formats: HEX (e.g., #FF5733), RGB (e.g., rgb(255, 87, 51)), and HSL (e.g., hsl(9, 100%, 60%)). Each can be copied with a single click. Perfect for web design, graphic work, and development.
