Frequently Asked Questions

Multiply the Celsius temperature by 9/5, then add 32. For example, 0°C is (0 × 9/5) + 32 = 32°F.

First subtract 32 from the Fahrenheit value, multiply by 5/9, then add 273.15: K = (°F − 32) × 5/9 + 273.15.

Kelvin is an absolute temperature scale. Zero Kelvin (0 K) corresponds to absolute zero, the theoretical lowest possible temperature. Thus negative Kelvin values are not physically meaningful. Our converter prevents negative Kelvin inputs.

They refer to the same scale. "Centigrade" was the original name, but "Celsius" is now the standard term. Both divide the temperature interval between the freezing and boiling points of water into 100 degrees.

It uses precise formulas with up to 15 decimal places and rounds displayed results to 2 decimal places for readability. The underlying calculations maintain high precision.
