📘 About the 20-20-20 Rule

Every 20 minutes, take a 20‑second break and look at something 20 feet away. It helps reduce digital eye strain and prevents dryness, blurred vision, and headaches caused by prolonged screen use.

Click Start and the timer will count down the work interval (default 20 minutes). When it ends, you’ll hear a soft beep and optionally receive a browser notification. Then the break countdown begins. After the break it automatically restarts work, creating a seamless loop. You can adjust work and break durations anytime.

The timer continues in the background, and if you’ve enabled browser notifications, you’ll be alerted even when the tab is inactive. For best results on mobile, keep the browser open and allow notifications.

Prolonged near-distance focus causes eye muscle fatigue. Regular micro-breaks reduce accommodation stress, improve blinking rate, and lower the risk of Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS). It’s a simple, scientifically backed habit.

Yes. Adjust the “Work” minutes and “Break” seconds directly above the timer. Values are saved in your session.
