Frequently Asked Questions

Open Graph meta tags are snippets of HTML that control how URLs are displayed when shared on social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. They define the title, description, image, and more.

Common reasons: the image URL is relative (must be absolute), the server blocks our fetch request, the image is smaller than 200x200px, or the og:image tag is missing. Use our debugger to verify the tag exists and the URL resolves.

Facebook caches OG data. Use the Facebook Sharing Debugger to scrape the URL again. Our tool shows the live tags so you can confirm they're updated.

Both are metadata standards for link previews. Open Graph (og:) is used by Facebook, LinkedIn, and others. Twitter Cards (twitter:) are specific to X (Twitter). Twitter will fall back to OG tags if Twitter tags are missing.

Platforms may crop images differently or use different font sizes. Ensure your og:image is at least 1200x630 pixels for best results. Use our tool to test on various widths right here.
