Yes, completely free. No sign-up required. All processing happens locally in your browser — no video data is ever uploaded to any server.
Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari 14+ are fully supported. Safari may output MP4 instead of WebM. For best results, use the latest browser version. HTTPS or localhost is required for camera access.
Recordings are stored temporarily in your browser's memory as Blob objects. Click "Download" to save them to your device. Refreshing the page will clear unsaved recordings.
Click the flip camera button (circular arrow icon) to toggle between available cameras. On mobile devices this switches between front-facing and rear-facing cameras. You can also manually select a specific camera from the dropdown in Settings.
Yes. Simply toggle off the "Record microphone audio" switch in Settings before starting your recording. The video will be captured without any audio track.
The default format is WebM (VP8/VP9 codec) in most browsers. Safari may use MP4 (H.264). The downloaded file extension will match the actual format — .webm or .mp4. Most modern media players support both formats.
Ensure: 1) You've granted camera permission when prompted, 2) No other app is using the camera, 3) You're on HTTPS or localhost, 4) Your browser supports getUserMedia. Check your browser's site permissions if access was previously denied.
